WORKING WITH THE TALE : THE YOUNG COOK GIRL

Continuing with our writing workshop to learn how to write  a tale, the English teacher Irene lado gave out her students one of her  tales called The Young Cook Girl  .The teacher herself wrote it taking the country of Romania and its culture as  a reference participating in this way in Tales of the Word (Cuentos del Mundo) for the Talis Project.First , the teacher made the students read the tale out loud and then she went over the vocabulary and some expressions which were unknown for the students.Some teaching techniques such as gestures,synonyms, google images and monolingual online dictionaries were used so that they students could understand  better the meaning of those expressions.
A week later, in the other session, the teacher showed them a powerpoint with some questions based on the tale structure,content, vocabulary,connectors and  Romanian culture coming up in the tale.
