STATUES OF FAMOUS INDIAN PERSONALITIES OF ANANTAPUR AND SURROUNDINGS

Following some  examples of the coursebook, I asked my students to write a description of the statue  of a famous person from their country and hometown saying where it is located,who that person is and what the person was famous for.
Here you are some of the descriptions of the students of the French group.

Famous Statue
Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao
In Anantapur we have some famous statues.One of the statues represents Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.It  is situated near Sri Kantam circle in Anantapur.He was a great politician during 1983-1995.He was a great actor in Tollywood.He was born in 1923 in Nimmakuru.He got the “Padmasree” and “National film awards”. He was the founder of “Telugudesam” political party. He was the 10th chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. He died in 1996.

The Statue of Nandamuri Tharaka Rama Rao in Anantapur (Opposite the  Arts College).
He was born in 1915 in the village of Nimmakuru (Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh State).He was a great film actor and Ex- Chief Minister Of Andhra Pradesh. He was famous for the  Telugu Film Industry. There is an award on his name called NTR Achievement award.

This is the statue of  Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao in Hyderabad.

He was born on 28th May 1923 in Nimmakuru.He was a great politician and also a great actor.He got many awards in  the Telugu film industry.He died on18th January 1996.

IN Anantapur there are a lot of famous statues.One of its statue is the one” SRI NANDAMURI TARAKARAMARAO” it is situated at srikatam circle in Anantapur and he was a great famous actor in tollywood and he was also a famous politician. H e was born in “1922”he was elected as chief minister in 1986. He was the founder of a political party called “TELUGU DESAM PARTY” and further more he was also famous for his good acting  and he ruled also ANDHRAPRADESH  from “1986-1995”.

A  bronze statue of Emperor Krishnadevaraya in Hampi

Sri krishnadevaraya was born in Hampi in Karnataka   on 17 January 1471.Sri Krishna Devaraya was the son of Nagala Devi and Tuluva Narasa Nayaka. Krishna Deva Raya was an Emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire(Karnataka Empire) who reigned from 1509–1529 CE.  He was considered to be one of the greatest kings of India. He died in 1529.

Gandhi was born in Porbandar in India in 1869. He became the leader of the India's independence movement, organizing boycotts against British institutions in a peaceful way of civil disobedience. He was killed by a fanatic in 1948.

Statue of  Sachin Tendulkar in Patna.
Sachin tendulker was born in April 24, 1973 in Mumbai in India.He is an Indian former cricketer widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of the modern generation, he popularly holds the title of "God of Cricket" among his fans .He is also acknowledged as the greatest cricketer of all time
He recently got the Bharth Rathna award.

Father Vincent Ferrer

The statue of Father Vincent Ferrer in Anantapur.
He was born in 1920(Spain) and he was the founder of RDT Voluntary Organisation which is in Andhra Pradesh (state). He worked as a social reformer and he implemented many welfare activities in rural areas. His qualities  were commitment, determination and concern for the poor people.

                              Y.S.RAJASEKHAR REDDY

The statue of Y.S.Raja sekhar Reddy is located in Edupulapaya village, Kadapa district. He was born in July 8,1949 in Pulivendula village , Kadapa district. He was married to Viyamma and he had 2 children namely Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Y.S.Sharmila. He was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. His party was called “Congress”. He died on September 2nd, 2009 at RudraKonda in Nallamala forest.
