INDIAN TALES WRITING WORKSHOP

Last week the students of the RDT Professional  School from Anantapur began a new project called TALIS which will take place within the next few weeks. The students will have the experience of participating in the making up of their own tale based on some Indian traditions and culture. The tales will be written in English, although some words in Telugu will be added from time to time along the story. The stories have to be original and can be based on different topics such as love, religion, history, festivals and any other aspects or customs  of the Indian people .They will  basically be settled in Anantapur( a city located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh)although they can also take place in some other areas of India.
During the next seminars students will be given all kind of strategies, hints or resources to guide them with the making of their tales. This will be a new experience to them because they will be able to develop their creativity, imagination as well as the opportunity to widespread their culture all over the world.
The following powerpoint was used by the English teacher Irene to let them know about the project and the people and institutions collaborating with TALIS.
If they succeed with this exciting experience, their work might be published .At the same time, the funds  raised by the selling of the tales will be destined to support an ONG ,in this case La Fundación Vicente Ferrer known in India as RDT(Rural Development Trust), an ONG which has been working for  a long time to fight against  poverty and to gain some dignity and a better life for the less favoured lower classes such as the dalits(untouchables) and some other backward castes.
