PURNA´S TALK IN RDT PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL

Last Wednesday 16th April,Purna Bahadur KC,management consultant working for RDT, held a conference for the students of RDT Professional School.
The speech was about motivation for learning new languages and the kind of challenges students have to face in rural India.The students seemed to listen to him with lot of interest and found the conference interesting and helpful.After his speech,some of them even asked Purna some questions for advice about their future professional career.

There will be another conference coming up by the middle of July about job interviews and account training.
Appart from this, Purna and Ravi Prakash will be giving some lectures on practical accounting for the students within the next months.









  

JASMINE BUNCH TO DECORATE THE TEACHER´S HAIR

The English teacher was given a  nice fragrant bunch of jasmine that Indian women use to decorate their long plaits.This was a gift that one of the Spanish students, Pullamma,gave the teacher because it was her birthday.
One of the French students, Leela, offered to put  the bunch on the teacher´s hair with a hairpin

SOUVENIRS FROM SPAIN: FANS TO BEAT UP THE HEAT

Irene, the English teacher ,wanted to give their students from the RDT Professional School a souvenir from Spain taking advantage of some friends visiting her.The students were given a fan so as to put up with that scorching weather and temperatures of 40 degrees.
The students really loved them and showed them up with their fans opened to be photographed.

UGADI



Ugadi, or Gudi Padwa which is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu month Chaitra, marks the beginning of the New Year according to the lunar calendar followed by Hindus especially in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.This day is also called Cheti Chand among the Sindhis.

It is believed that Lord Brahma began creating the universe on this auspicious day of Ugadi.
On this day people decorate their houses with mango leaves, rangoli designs and pray of a prosperous new year.They also visit temples to listen to " Panchanga Shravana" or to the predictions made by the priests for the coming year.
Ugadi also officially marks the beginning of the mango season.This festival gives all the freedom  to satisfy the taste buds  with yummy mangoes.
SYMBOLIC EATING, PACHARI!!
The eating of a specific mixture of 6 tastes on this day symbolises the fact that life is an amalgamation of different experiences , which ought to be accepted with equanimity throughout the year.
The special mixture consists of :
Neem buds, flowers for its bitternesss (signifying sadness)
Jaggery(concentrated sugar) and ripe banana pieces for sweetness (happiness)
Green chilli /pepper for its hot taste (anger)
Salt for saltiness (Fear)
Tamarind juice for its sourness(Disgust)
Unripened mango for its tang(surprise)
Ugadi is also the time of the year , when people especially ladies,would love to get dresses in their traditional outfits and flaunt their ethnic side in style.Women wait for this of the year to buy for their best traditional outfit and accessories to look their best.
